Introduction
Over the past months, we have been working intensively to strengthen Fineod’s presence in Ukraine, develop key partnerships, and secure the resources necessary to sustain and expand our training operations. This report provides an overview of our recent efforts, the challenges we face, and our plans moving forward.
While our updates have been less frequent, this has been due to the sheer amount of work happening behind the scenes. Every effort is being made to ensure that our mission in Ukraine continues.
Operational Highlights
February Visit to Ukraine
In February, we traveled to Ukraine to further develop our cooperation with other organizations and address company matters in Ukraine. During this trip, we met with representatives of the units we have trained and continued discussions on future training programs.
As part of our commitment to supporting personnel in the field, we also donated two drones to enhance their operational effectiveness. These contributions, though small in scale, have a significant impact, and we are working to ensure more resources can be delivered in the future. Also, we have participated on some other projects that involves expertise on our field.
Training Efforts
Our primary focus remains on maintaining and expanding our training operations in Ukraine. While much of our work is conducted on-site, we have also been working tirelessly from Finland to ensure the continuity and growth of our programs. This includes:
Developing new training materials
Strengthening partnerships to enhance operational reach
Exploring ways to improve access to resources and equipment for trainees
Funding Challenges & Next Steps
Currently, Fineod operates almost entirely on self-funding. Despite the financial strain, we have remained committed to sustaining and expanding our efforts. We have applied for external funding and are awaiting a decision that could significantly impact our ability to scale operations.
If funding is secured, we will return to Ukraine as soon as possible to resume training and further our operational goals. If not, our next scheduled visit is set for June, but we continue to explore every possible avenue to accelerate our return. The need for training remains high, and we are determined to meet it to the best of our ability.
Why the Reduced Updates?
We recognize that our reports have been less frequent recently, but this is not due to inactivity—on the contrary, we have been working harder than ever. Both Fineod’s founders have been fully committed to managing operations, securing funding, and maintaining training efforts, all while financing the company largely through personal work.
Balancing these responsibilities has been demanding, but our dedication to Fineod’s mission remains unwavering. As soon as we have more concrete updates, we will resume more regular communications.
Looking Ahead
Funding & Expansion: Securing external funding is our top priority, as it will determine the speed and scale of our next operational steps.
Next Deployment to Ukraine: Our planned return is in June, but we are ready to go sooner if funding allows.
Training & Collaboration: We will continue strengthening partnerships and refining training programs to maximize impact.
More Frequent Updates: As our workload stabilizes, we will share more regular insights into Fineod’s progress.
Final Thoughts
The demand for demining and training remains urgent, and we are doing everything in our power to meet it. We deeply appreciate the support of those who follow our work, collaborate with us, and help spread awareness of this mission.
Stay tuned for further updates—we remain fully committed to making a difference, and we will continue to push forward with everything we have.
